At Groundswell, giving is something we do together.
Give what you can. Give regularly if that works for you. We pool your donation with hundreds of others across the country, and twice a year, you vote on where our grants go.
And it isn’t just about pooling money. It’s about pooling knowledge — making better decisions, learning from each other and directing resources where they can have the greatest impact.
This is the power of collective giving.

Our operational costs are covered by a small group of generous supporters who make our work possible.
That means every dollar donated by our broader community goes directly to climate action.
No single donation funds a campaign. But pooled with hundreds of others, it becomes something bigger with real impact. Since 2020, our community has come together to raise more than $7 million for climate action across Australia. Our $40,000 grants have helped secure a national home battery rebate, defended the rights of climate protesters in court, backed First Nations communities defending Country, and built public pressure for stronger climate policy.
We already have all the solutions to the climate crisis we need. What's missing is the political will to deploy them at the pace and scale the moment demands.
Advocacy is how that will is built – through evidence, organising, and sustained pressure on governments, companies, and regulators. Often invisible, advocacy is behind every major climate win, from policies passed to projects stopped and institutions held to account.
It's also chronically underfunded. Which is exactly why we back it.
We focus on where funding can make the biggest difference right now.
That means looking for organisations with strong strategies, experienced leadership, and real opportunities to influence policy, public opinion or decision-making. We draw on expert advice to identify these opportunities, and our community helps shape where funding goes.
It’s the best way to back the work that has the potential to go further, faster.
100% of your donation goes directly to climate grants. Your contribution is pooled with others and directed where it can make the greatest difference – funding organisations across Australia working to shift policy, build public support, and accelerate climate action.

“My journey with Groundswell has shaped me in ways I carry into my work and life. It has shown me that change is not something we simply hope for, but something we actively create. Being part of this community makes me feel connected, responsible and genuinely hopeful about what is possible.”

There is so much worth fighting for, building and protecting.
And there are brilliant people already doing that work. They
need our backing and they need it now.
Whatever your level of giving, there’s a place for you at Groundswell. Give now and be part of what happens next.

Wherever we are in this country, we are on Country.
We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Traditional Custodians, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
We honour their enduring care for Country and the First Nations leadership our climate future depends on.
